Doja Cat Opens Up About Borderline Personality Disorder Diagnosis and Its Impact

Doja Cat is opening up about a deeply personal health battle.

The Grammy-winning artist recently took to social media to share that she has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. In a candid video shared with her followers, the "Paint the Town Red" singer explained that the diagnosis came after years of suppressing her actual emotions. She admitted that she spent most of her life masking her feelings just to get through her daily responsibilities. The pressure of maintaining a perfect public image clearly took a toll on her mental health.

BPD is one of the worst psych diagnoses to get. There is like no medicine for it. They can take mood stabilizers, but it still isn't a good fix. You can't date a BPD person. You can't reason with them. They are like pariahs. It's a bad diagnosis for sure. If you get it, you're basically a psychopath. Maybe talk therapy could help, but I dunno.

Therapy doesn't work for them.

They're just fukkED UP people


What's SICK about these types is that they'll come on strong to LOCK you IN, then months later you see the madness, illogical decisions, inability to regulate emotions appear. You try to help until you realize they're just fukkED UP. And usually before that they TURN ON YOU.

…I didn’t even know they could do that.

I married a narcissist which is on a similar spectrum and she would tell me the therapist would laugh at the serious shyt being told, because my ex had a way of making the most absurd shyt sound funny.

She never had a good therapist because she was never capable of being real in the moment.
