We in a thread talking about a celebrity and you like you only care because he's a celebrity. Duh if he wasn't a celebrity this thread doesn't exist.

I don't go around judging mentally ill people celebrity or otherwise. People who are mentally ill can have episodes that aren't reflective of who they are.
It’s a bigger difference about talking about some because they famous vs making a excuse for homo incest weirdo because they famous

where was his mental illness when he took advantage a kindergarten student

molested that kid for 6 years. Ruined that kid life

I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't keep up with all the gossip of these people and I've heard nothing about him raping a child.

It’s all about being on code

Being Black isn’t a checklist of approved takes. It’s not “if you don’t boycott who I boycott, you don’t qualify.” That’s goofy.

We grown. Everybody decides for themselves what they care about, what crosses the line, and who they listen to. If YOU don’t rock with Kanye, cool. Stand on that. But stop acting like there’s some rulebook the rest of us gotta follow.

They turning “on code” into “think exactly like me or get labeled.”
It gets spooky once you look into how these "Not Like Us" cultural policing and mindsets originate :lupe:

Wish I had the tweet but I’ll paraphrase it

Kanye's cancellation is upsetting to a lot of Black people because it's bothersome to see others exercise a level of self-respect that you don't possess. We assume that because black people openly embrace anti-blackness, (so long as it's wrapped in black skin) that other marginalized communities must bypass their boundaries and endure disrespect as well.

Not so.

It’s not gossip. It’s out his own damn mouth :dahell:
OK I looked this up and are you really lecturing me about something a man that's almost 50 years old did when he was a child? Are you serious?

Just because you found out about it now doesn't mean we not like 4 decades+ removed from when it happened. I'm not judging a grown man for some bullshit he did as a child. Are you nuts? I'm here thinking you talking he molested a child not too long ago.

If he was say 8 and the other kid was 6 and my nephew is 48-49 now I’ve got nothing to say about it.

People are not permanently the person they are when they did stupid stuff especially as a child. What if we took all the poor decisions you ever made in your life and permanently attached them to you as you are now? People grow and change especially from childhood to adulthood.

By your logic we never amount to more than our worst decisions at any age.

I can't believe we've reached a point in society where an almost 50 year old man gets labeled a homo because he disclosed that as a child he and another child relative sexually experimented. Heaven help us the internet is rotting our brains. Do young children even really understand sexual orientation?

They not ready for that level of conversation

A lot of these conversations fall apart because people refuse to use any nuance. Everything gets turned into the worst possible version of itself.

What he described was two kids doing something inappropriate. That’s not the same as an adult situation, and trying to force it into that category just shows people aren’t listening for understanding they are listening to react.

Same thing happens with other topics too. People jump straight to extreme labels instead of understanding context. Everything becomes “this is that,” with no middle ground.

And that’s the bigger issue—people aren’t ready for conversations that require any level of nuance. It’s all black and white thinking.

You can acknowledge something is wrong or uncomfortable without turning it into something it’s not.

But a lot of people don’t want to do that. It’s easier to spin it, exaggerate it, and then moralize from there.
