What may happen is the price of consoles could rise. But we may very well go into an all digital console age. To avoid that shyt all together. Price of physical games may be higher and produced in more limited quantities.

We'll go all digital eventually but not soon enough to avoid this. One of his sources was saying that it may even affect games developed outside the US even if the game disc are made here, so that would probably affect digital games too

Nah. I don't see how it would effect digital games too heavy outside the aspect of them having to pay more for some of the hardware used to make the games. It's def not too early to go majority digital cause be basically have to download the games to the console regardless if we have the physical media or not. Steam is doing great even tho u can still buy the games physically alot of the time. But it's in limited stock. They can just adjust and adopt the same thing for consoles. These games sell with a decent amount of overhead. Especially the digital ones. Noone is saying that right now we have to go all digital. But I can guarantee that they can get people to be more attracted to the digital version of these games.

I don't know if Trump is this dumb, or just trying to pander to dumb people

I mean there's something to be said about the positives and negatives of outsourcing stuff. but our society is basically addicted to the cheap prices it provides :manny:

The point I was making is that if the game itself is developed overseas than it could be subject to tariffs whether it's physical or digital. We don't know yet how this would affect a digital market place and I wouldn't put it past Trump to apply the same rules there as he does on physical products.

Well I know for one Trump is going to fukk with the FGC, MOBA, FPS and other professional e-sports based leagues. His ban on certain countries and people of certain descent is already affecting certain players ability to travel to the US and compete.

it's never really gonna be the same. to make a physical product, you first need the raw materials (plastics, paper, etc). then the actual manufacturing process. and then a distribution network to get that product to the consumer. there's a lot of opportunities there for tariffs to affect pricing
