You dont point your gun unless you intend to kill. Aint nothing unintentional about choosing to pull your gun vs your taser and finger on the trigger.Looked like an unintentional discharge, but the cop should still be charged criminally.
This isn't true. Pointing a gun doesn't prove intent to kill. You dont point your gun unless you intend to kill.
This is the wreckless part, imo....finger on the trigger.
The person you quoted didn’t word it correctly but it’s one of the most basic gun safety rules. Don’t point your weapon at anything you don’t intend to shoot. This isn't true. Pointing a gun doesn't prove intent to kill.

It's only purpose is to shoot and kill something, and if that is not your intent you must keep it pointed in a safe direction with your finger off the trigger at all other times.
@Starman is very wrong. Pointing it at someone always implies intent to kill

Preparedness to shoot is also taught in gun safety classes. you are supposed to keep the gun held at a low ready position.No. Preparedness to shoot and kill is not the same as intent/desire to.
The cops immediate reaction shows he knew he fukked up.
For a regular person, just pointing a gun alone woulda been an assault charge. This the police tho so it'll be a paid vacation for him.

Well what was the problem then? Not even that. The cop who pointed the gun and didn't shoot will probably face no discipline. I understand y'all feel otherwise, but pointing the gun isn't the problem.
