i love russ but i would not take him over curry at this point in time. the reason, aside from his other worldly shooting, is hes a little better decision maker does a better job of keeping his cool. russ still doesnt have full control of his athleticism. he gets wild sometimes and turns it over. hes also gets into personal battles too much. he needs to keep his emotions in check.
that said they are still 1a and 1b.
breh, curry is averaging 3.4 turnovers while getting 5.9 assists. that entire team is good at passing(aside from that scrub klay) and they got a great system in place.
westbrook averages 5 turnovers while accounting for
47% of the thunder's offense. he has these dudes second in offensive efficiency in the league, behind the warriors obviously, even without durant.
also this isn't three years ago, he has his athleticism in check and he's mostly in control at all times. the hero ball play he has at the end of games has to go though, even though it can work out for them like it did in orlando and even today, and his finishing needs to get better as he usually goes so hard at the rim his shots rim out because they're going at the same speed as he is.
for the last and final time......westbrook is not a point guard
"Per the NBA's SportVU player tracking data, 18.7 percent of Westbrook's passes become an assist. That's easily tops in the league. Of players with 500 or more passes, the next-closest is Kings guard Rajon Rondo at 12.8. Adjust that to include secondary and free throw assists, and Westbrook jumps to 23.5 percent. Include potential assists -- passes that lead to a shot attempt -- and it goes to almost 57 percent (hat tip to Nylon Calculus on that number).
ya, not only is he a point guard he's currently best playmaker in the league.
