Conventional wisdom is that bigs take longer to develop and adapt to the league. Even one projected for a backup role.

If that’s the case, maybe the Spurs feel adding a veteran is more in line with their timeline to compete for a playoff spot this year.

I browsed the free agent pool for Centers this summer. It’s not good. I guess trade is the way to go. I mean it’s unlikely Naz Reid hits the market. What else is there? Kevon Looney?
I think Spurs will have to trade for a big man (dont think that's the end of the world tho, tbh)
