if ma$e would've stayed in the game, how do you his discography would've turned out? :jbhmm:

double up was a huge disappointment to many (though there are some songs on there i like, "same nikkas" is 1 of them and 1 of his best songs too) but had ma$e not left hip hop and continued on with music and had his heart still been in hip hop, how do you think he would've done? :patrice:

i was just lookin' back at his "get ready" music video and thinkin' back. this song was a typical run of the mill for ma$e but i always fukked it :yeshrug::stylin:

I think Double Up flopped cause he already had 1 foot out the game. I remember reading the source issue (with him and a tiger) and he was already talking about leaving. I'm sure Puff didn't want to invest money in something Ma$e wasn't gonna be around to promote anyways.

I think that whole Bad Boy sound period was getting played out by 99, maybe that's why he didn't move as many units as Harlem World. Diddy dropped an album that year too he didn't have No Way Out's success.

U could tell his heart wasnt in it just off like the 2nd song of Double Up

Plus he fukked it all up with Cam and shyt.

Harlem is like a graveyard for talent. Can u imagine... Big L, Cam, Bloodshed, Mase and Max B all together at the same time :mjcry: U see what Dipset did with a bunch of B-F list dudes.... Harlem would have had a dynasty to rival anybody.... Death Row, Bad Boy, Rocafella, WHOEVER

Mase only left for 5 yrs, he wouldn't have dropped any more than 2 albums in between that timeframe and they woulda most likely sounded like diet Fabolous.

And Dipset wack MCs?

Cam the only nice one from the Dips now? Jim ain't drop fire albums? Elz ain't upstage prime Wayne on half the tracks they did together? JR Hell Rell and 40 didn't have bars in 04-06?

That revisionist history shole is something else...

It's hard to say. Mase was a rapping prodigy. Came in the game so young and the success came easy. I'm not sure if he ever had that real drive to be #1.

You can draw some parallels to Juelz.

co-sign mase is incredible, but isnt he back in the game and dont think the track did as well as it should have but i think he would have mos def been bigger, 'double up' pushing maybe double plat. drop that 'all i ever wanted' single. :ohlawd:

Dont get me wrong, I'm still a Dipset stan. I still listen to Un Kasa and 40 Cal. But none of them nikkas were as nice as the CoC boys or Biggavelli :yeshrug: They all needed that group to shine. Aside from Cam & Juelz none of em could really stand on their own :manny: They had bars and classic moments (check my "Classic Moments In Dipstory" thread series) but the shyt came and went. nikkas still crying over Bigga's incarceration and bumping that 10 years of Hate tho :sas2:
