I'm seeing all these ads for Alexa and whatnot. You really need a "voice automated assistant" that bad that you want audio inside your house being broadcast 24/7 out to companies known to GIVE that data to the government :dahell:

Sure this was posted, but law enforcement is trying to get Amazon to cough up Echo audio recordings that might have been made during a killing/murder in someone's house:

Alexa, whodunit? Amazon Echo data could play part in murder case

Now, why is Amazon fighting this so hard? I think because they don't want people to know how much data they're capturing from you. I've got all kinds of devices in my house that want to access the internet autonomously or stream my voice out to the internet (and FOH to all of them that try).

About 10 years ago Bush tried to launch TIA (total information awareness) and that got slapped down. All they did was get corporate america to do it for them :sas2:

My homie's Xbox has a fukking camera pointed at him at all times and he can yell at it to change the channel, turn the volume down, etc. Mind you that this is a fukking Microsoft product but he doesn't care that anyone including a hacker or Big Brother could be and probably is watching/listening.

People really think that just because these companies say 'oh no, of COURSE we're not keeping your data or sending it to anyone :queen:" that they're actually not. All it takes is for the government or law enforcement to request that shyt and they're gonna hand it over no questions asked.

They're listening to our smartphone mics, and watching us through our cell phone cameras. Same for the Smart TVs that have voice recognition. But people don't give a shyt because they can't be assed to give up even a little bit of convenience. :smh:

I heard somewhere that even your laptop camera can be turned on; even if your laptop is asleep. And, websites can activate it?

Breh your laptop camera can be turned on even without the light coming on. People have been blackmailed with pics/vids of them jacking off like this.

I suggest everyone here do some research on Richard Snowden's revelations about the NSA to find out just how deep this tech surveillance rabbit hole goes.

Nope. It's 2016, famo. No one gives a shyt about privacy. Look at people spilling their guts on social media bruh.. and of course, the computer you keep your pocket on a daily basis. If they want your info, they don't need Alexa to do it.

I have Alexa in the crib and I live alone. So if Amazon wants to hear Hip Hop Music, mundane conversations with my fam, my TV, porn playing and the occasional bytch gettin diccked down, then so be it. Unless you're planning a bank robbery or some shyt, you should be straight.
