Don't you find it funny/interesting Fabolous is a better rapper now than at his commercial peak?

and by commercial peak I mean 2001-2003. he started getting better with real talk as he eased up on being monotone.

most rappers have best commercial success with the better flow. maybe it was his label situations...

it's hard at times listening to ghetto fab and street dreams outside of the hits from that time period. I thought he was a ma$e clone back in the day anyways....but he had the songs. didn't really like fab until real talk.

I remember in high school hearing people clowning Fab for that baby song saying he had no bars.

I didn't start taking Fab seriously until 2005.

Fab stumbled into his lane of R&B feature rapper earlier in his career. Financially it was an upgrade from Desert Storm mixtape rapper and luckily for him he embraced it. That lane led to his longevity where he now can make whatever it is he feels like.

So he didn't necessarily get better at rapping, he's always been good at it, he just has the financial freedom to not have to rap by the top 40 rules.

I'll probably get negged for this but

I felt like his voice (or rather tone of voice) sounded gay. I also thought some of his punches were laughable...like the way the coli like the way Coli makes fun of Papoose. I also thought he dressed like a high school kid despite being a grown ass man. I also thought he was practically the poster child for the 106 and park era and that he deliberately marketed himself to teenage girls.

:patrice: he has more mature subject matter and did a phenomenal job branding himself as a super cool street dude with the fly gear and all.....

but i remember him in those early clue days ... his bars were just :wow:

he took a dip trying to be too commercial but fell back and found his pocket/lane and been ridding that ever since.....

I love both eras, funny enough

I bought real talk in 04 and the tail end of the shiny suit era is a personal favorite era

If he dropped that Old mainstream NY formula, "make a song for every demographic that supports me" bullshyt and honed in on a subject matter per album, he'd have back to back classics by now

Nikka he still does :what:

I'm probably in the minority here but I might prefer his old stuff to his current :patrice: This was peak Fab for me :banderas:

I’m talking bout flow and delivery.

It’s like Rick Ross going from Port of Miami to Trilla...the hits were hits on 1st album, but they became better rappers on later albums.

Everybody dressed like that back then. Jerseys and white tees and shyt. Fab follows trends, so Fab dresses how everybody dresses now, so if you thought he dresses like a high school kid then it should be the same now fam. :yeshrug:

When I look at Fabs IG, I’m like this dude is a clown because all he does is follow trends :yeshrug:

He’s always been nice his music is what improved

Back then he was restricted by the 00’s radio formula which held his music back

I still don't know who Fab is as a rapper lol. Like he has no identity or real brand imo. And I don't know anyone who has listened to an entire album from him. He's just there and he made it this long just like Wale, they make that hit for the bytches every couple of years and hop on a couple of features with their friends.

The most I ever seen him talked about is when he was yelling at his chick and saying he'd kill her dad.

his bars seem much more focused now, plus he improved musically by the time Real Talk came around.
I think he chooses his bars a little more carefully too,and by not going for current event punchlines so much, the music ages better.
