Doom 2016 is a modern day classic, Doom Eternal is a fine follow up and they deserve to be successes. It is clear the level of effort they put into the games.
On a side note it's crazy how the Doom scene was in the early-mid 90s. People used to buy created level disks for 3-5 bucks a pop. Playing Co-op over 33k modems. Then eventually they had forums where you could download them.
