Having New Day do what they do without the belts makes the belts even more meaningless. That's telling the audience that "this team is more important and entertaining than the team with the titles". Especially if another face team is holding the belts.

I definitely imagine that's part of it, but another part of this is that Dave fukking loves spots. Spots spots spots. AA do a lot more spots and movez than New Day, so of course he likes them more. Dude fukking loves the Young Bucks and Dragon Gate spotfests more than anything in life. He also hates comedy acts, even though he loves the Young Bucks and PWG.

Okay, put AA in 15-20 minute tags on Raw every week and see how many people tune out. AA works because NXT is an hour and the only have long tag matches every 2-4 months at Takeover instead of every week on TV. A month in Dave would be complaining about them doing the same match and how their 2 commercial break matches are too long and making people change the channel. There is no way Dave can really think AA would be better for business than the hottest mid card act in a decade.

New Day you can send out to do literally anything. Singles, tags, six man tags, 20 minute promos, straight comedy, Southern tags, commentary, merch shilling, product placements....AA can go out and wrestle for 20 minutes very well.

Dave is severely underrating New Day's in-ring skill. They have to ability to flip the switch from comedy to viciousness in a blink of an eye. Their match against Jericho and AJ was easily 4 stars. One of the best matches on RAW all year.

This is true, and it's exactly what happened to the Prime Time Players during their tag title run.

Alpha would not translate well right now to the main roster as IMO. Not their fault but still. ..
