The number of Washington Wizards on Team USA's men's basketball roster just doubled.

John Wall received an invitation to work out with the national team next week in Las Vegas, according to reports. Bradley Beal was previously announced as one of 19 players set to practice in advance of next month's FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain.

Coach Mike Krzyzewski and USAB chairman Jerry Colangelo will whittle the group down to 12. The World Cup begins on August 30.

Wall joins fellow points guards Stephen Curry (Warriors), Kyrie Irving (Cavs), Damian Lillard (Trail Blazers) and Derrick Rose (Bulls), whose playing status remains uncertain after missing most of the past season with a knee injury.

The NBA leader in total assists this past season during which he became a first time All-Star, Wall previously participated with Team USA. However he was left the preliminary 28-man roster announced in January. Several players from that group chose to pass on competing internationally this summer, including Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook and Deron Williams. Those absences combined with Wall's breakout performance led to the invitation, ESPN's Marc Stein reported.

Others could be added, especially big men now that Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin withdrew from the team.
First Glen RICE J and Otto rep that Double U
Now Johnny Wallbanger and Bradley Da Beal Deal reppin dat Double U :banderas:

Does ANYONE believe either player will make the 12 man roster?
I think the spot is John Wall's to lose. He's not the favorite, but its his to lose :manny:

Seeing as he's a better defender (by far) than all of the other point guards listed but also the worst shooter of them (by far) I'd say the shyt is a tossup. I'd like to see him on the team because I think he's better than Lillard, Irving, and probably Rose too at this point.

If he has improved since last season, he will make the team as the starter
If he makes the team, Wizards are the favorites in the Eastern Conference :banderas:

Do you know what the fukk being "the favorite" means?
Why do you ask? While I wait for your answer, I can tell you John is the favorite IMO.
But that is dependent on "IF" his jumper has improved ever so "slightly" from a few months ago
Last year, he was unstoppable at times. If he can play like that at these practices, hes on the team

But, I'm also aware of popular opinions, and popular opinions has no idea what John is capable of
Outsiders.. and they outnumber us. So he wouldn't be the favorite on Thecoli or ESPN
Hence why I worded it like I did. If I said he was the favorite, I'd be called a troll :manny:

Wall isn't making the team. He just got invited to work out with them. He's a longshot hence the late invitation.

Players ahead of him imo: Rose, Curry, Kyrie(duke connection) and even Lillard for shooting.

Yea. Kyrie and curry are in no doubt. I'm pretty sure lillard gets in because he's just a more solid and comfortable choice at Pg (although wall us a better one) and his 3 point shot is:ohlawd:

Rose you say is ahead of him, but Rose hasn't played basketball in about 2yrs so :camby:

Kyrie didn't have a better season than John Wall last year, this is about point guards. JW is the nikka at that position in the NBA at this point. 2yrs ago, I'd be like "I don't know :patrice:" but until he falls off, he's earned his spot

Lillard can cook more, true. But John is better at EVERYTHING else.
And since this is TEAM USA. They don't need a shoot first PG. So John out of all of them has the best chance imo
But especially with Coach K having a factor, I see Kyrie getting the start. John backup PG as of today
Then depending on how things play out.... well, we'll see. Heads up, John usually makes Kyrie his bytch :manny:

Rose is making it for sure if he goes to Vegas. They won't play him like that, he's practically a shoe-in. Wall really has no shot.

Wall was trash against the Pacers :camby:
He did better than Rose and Irving did vs them :sas2:

Wall is the better overall PG out the bunch, so he has a very real shot.
He just has the stigma of not being able to make a shot
Man :heh: his rookie year, that shyt was so terrible that even now we can't get over it :mjlol:
John is now a good shooter. He doesn't need to be a GREAT shooter. He needs to be a great PG to help out all the other stars
Every other thing outside of shooting I'd give John Wall the clear advantage in
That alone gives him one of the 3 spots unless HE fukkS IT UP.
Its his to lose :manny:
