I think one of them leaked records or info to tmz

tmz waves money at people for them to do unethical shyt, just sad that hospital couldn't id just the one responsible for the leak and fire her/ him

Unless it’s like 3 times more then my annual salary it’s not worth it ...now it’s on their records and hospitals have strict hiring practices they ain’t going to take the risk of hiring a nurse with a hipaa violation ...especially when nurses are a dime a dozen these days ...career ruined

Man HIPAA law is no joke...I work in the lab...if you don’t have a legit reason to search a patients records. DO NOT click on their shyt.
:martin:

I work in a small lab so I have patient interaction and they or their family stay wanting me to tell them about their labs...I just tell them straight up I know but I’m not in position to tell to any of your patient information,I’ll inform the doctor and they’ll let you know what’s up.

TMZ broke the news of MJ's death, retrieved Ray Rice elevator video, and Solange Jay Z elevator video.
I think somebody on that nursing staff got a big bag.
Remember this was the BIGGEST story in the country for two weeks.
Because they fired everyone, they must not have been able to determine who it was. I'm not sure they can pin the hipaa violation on them all.

Was it worth it, to the person who did it? Probably not.

She said she never accessed the actor’s chart, but simply scrolled past it when looking for another patient’s name.
:mjlol:

Is that the best you can come up with

reminds of this shyt
Watts said in a lawsuit filed later. She said people prank-ordered pizzas to her home and smeared human feces on her car, and 88 cops from 25 departments stalked her and obtained her personal information through the state's Driver and Vehicle Information Database (DAVID).

They should be fired because what they did is a violation of hipaa law. You can’t be pulling up people’s medical records all Willy nilly and laughing and joking about it. Yeah it’s funny with Jussie because he a lame, but if your mother was getting treated for a tumor that looked like mr potato head and nurses was joking and making memes out of it you would sue and want them fired.
Our managers for paratransit work stay in our ass about them Hippa laws, gotta take a refresher course once every 3 months. This could be some huge legal ramifications

My wife works at Northwestern. You would have to click on his name, and bypass a confirmation message to see his chart.
Everyone that got fired was being nosey, they don't have grounds to appeal unless they had a legit reason to be in it, they just got caught because they audited due to the the leak.

Most of their Coders/auditors/billers make 60k or more and work from home pretty much full time , Nurses make waaay more as it's a top 2 hospital in the city.
Throw a great job in the bushes brehettes

EXCLUSIVE: Dozens Of Northwestern Hospital Workers May Have Been Fired For Improperly Reviewing Jussie Smollett’s Records
By Dana KozlovMarch 6, 2019 at 10:00 pm
Filed Under:Empire, Jussie Smollett, Jussie Smollett Attack, Jussie Smollett Chicago, Northwestern Nurses Fired

CHICAGO (CBS) – Dozens of workers at Northwestern Memorial Hospital may have been fired for improperly reviewing the medical records of Jussie Smollett, who was treated at the emergency room after he claimed he had been attacked by two men.

(Credit: TMZ)

Sources said those workers have been terminated after gaining access to the “Empire” actor’s medical chart. Smollett has since been charged with staging the whole incident.

One of the nurses said it was a misunderstanding, and claimed she never even accessed Smollett’s chart, but she was fired last week and believes many other nurses and staffers were fired for the same reason.

The nurse said she was called in at the end of her shift last Tuesday, fired on the spot and escorted out of the hospital.

She said she wasn’t asked any questions and never had a chance to offer an explanation. She said she never accessed the actor’s chart, but simply scrolled past it when looking for another patient’s name.

She’s appealing, and believes others may have been fired for simply scrolling past the name as well.

Smollett arrived at Northwestern on Jan. 29. He claimed was walking home from a Subway restaurant, in the 300 block of E. Lower North Water Street, around 2 a.m. when two offenders yelled racial and homophobic slurs at him.

Smollett said the offenders beat him, put a rope around his neck and poured an unknown chemical substance on the him.

CBS 2 reached out repeatedly to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for comment. A spokesperson said company policy prevents him from commenting on the employment status of any employees.

Police said the attack was a “publicity stunt” because Smollett was upset with his salary. He has pleaded not guilty and remains free on bond.

Police said, in reality, Smollett had paid two men, Ola and Abel Osundairo, $3,500 by check to stage the attack, including pouring bleach on him and placing a noose around his neck. CBS 2’s Charlie De Mar has reported Smollett also directed the brothers to buy the noose at a hardware store and the hat and masks at a store in Uptown.

Police said the two brothers wore gloves during the staged attack, and did punch Smollett, but the scratches and bruises on Smollett’s face most likely were self-inflicted.
How medical charts are...

Even the oldest medical charting software (Meditech) will track your views. If I click on a patient's name its like: "Are you sure you want to look at this patient" "Are you even assigned to this patient?" It has notification prompts like that. MD orders list all medical personnel that viewed it.

Also these nurses are fukking retarded for this. But females can be dumb and gossipy but thats another issue. If they encounter a small or big dikk for example they will talk about that. The

So if Drake shows up in my hospital or in my unit I'm not about to look at any of his shyt unless he's one of mine because I just want my cheque and to go home I won't even talk about Scorpion or my favorite songs. Women here aren't like that, they'll probably take a peek.

Ehh, I can see the nurse's side too. There's times I end up inadvertently coming across a clients name on any random electronic application. Boss will call me in, I'll explain it, and I'm good to go. This could be a case of a situation getting so political due to notoriety that mid level managers might overreact by firing nurses who did inadvertently come across that fakket's name.
