Dr. Dre and Scott Storch Reunite - XXL
As far as super producers go, Dr. Dre and Scott Storch represent two different paths of how to handle stardom, but at one point in time, their talents were united to produce some of Dre’s most memorable records. Storch is credited with composing the key loop on “Still D.R.E.” and had his hand in additional 2001 cuts such as “Big Ego’s.” They then went on to collaborate on Eve and Gwen Stefani’s hit “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” but Storch’s drug use led to a falling out between the two.

In an interview from February of this year, Storch said that it was likely his drug problem that led to their split, saying, “I have a very good feeling about me and Dre in the future, we’ll get back and do some more stuff together. I’m out in California now, it only makes sense. I burnt a lot of bridges with my drug use and pissed a lot of people off.”

Well, that feeling can be confirmed as spot on, with the two appearing in a n Instagram photo posted late Wednesday evening (June 29). “It’s a big day in hip hop earlier today” Steve Lobel captioned the snapshot. “Reunited and it feels so good #drdre X #scottstorch what a great meeting! Stay tuned! history repeats itself.”

What the two are plotting can only be speculated now, but Storch has commented on the 2001 sessions in the past, saying, “At the time, I saw Dr. Dre desperately needed something. He needed a fuel injection, and Dre utilized me as the nitrous oxide. He threw me into the mix, and I sort of tapped on a new flavor with my whole piano sound and the strings and orchestration. So I’d be on the keyboards, and Mike [Elizondo] was on the bass guitar, and Dre was on the drum machine.”

scott storch has been consistent with the quality of his production even when on the drugs so hopefully he comes back to a new level now that he says he's clean and focused.

lol

anyway, hope Dre can save this dudes life.

But, how in demand and hot is Dre at this point?:lupe:

i'm sure every rapper would jump at the opportunity to work with Dre or even be in the same studio with him.

Scott Storch played keys and his beats on his own, were sharking Dre drum patterns if you want to be honest. However, it is good to see them back together as they did make a good production team during those 2001 days.

Timbaland pretty much aired him out about just being a Piano man and stomped out the last bit of flame from his career, along with that yay.

y'all should be more excited about this more than you guys are showing right now, it's going to be nothing but great music coming out, Scott is the only Dre "co producer" that made good on his own! :patrice:

Doesnt mean anything these days, and for good reason, and i grew up on Dre's music. Dre aint
had a album in 17 damn years. Crazy how fast time flies but its true. He hasnt even produced/engineered
like THAT since like 50 Cent's run & Game's first album.

I know he "executive produced" Good Kid Maad City but ya
should know what it was with that. No further explaination. Also, with people hearing people sayin "Dre doesnt really produce" shyt
its kinda tarneshed his name on the music tip in hip-hop. Hes still very respected and has a giant machine behind him still (Jimmy) but some just
dont look at him the same.

Dre aint gonna do shyt, he'll just sit on his lazy ass like always....
Best thing at this point would be to just release all the shyt he did the last decades right now, we know damn well he aint gonna be producing one lousy ass song in the future so just release the old shyt. That would also be a lot better than he could do nowdays, best believe he couldnt deliver a classic beat nowdays with his zero motivation attitude...
