Rolling Stone :win:

"One of the most incredible things that I liked about Dilla is, Dilla was in his hospital room on his deathbed and he had his machines in his room, in his hospital room and he was still making beats before he passed away," "Now you're talking about dedication to what you really love and your passion? It gets no deeper than that. That's why J Dilla is one of my favorites."

:cape:

J Dilla just got GOAT'd, congrats

I don't think Dre farts in the dark without having a thought ahead of time about how to monetize or use it to his advantage.

So I have trouble believing he's genuine.

This is a guy who can't do anything, including poke his head out the window without a hundred million dollars in guaranteed sales.

TOKYO, Taitou-Ku.

I bought the book that this picture was from and around late '06, a friend of mine hooked me up and was able to get this one as well as madlib's lab pics blown up to ungodly sizes. had them hanging on the walls in my miscellaneous creative spaces for years.

I've told my Dilla story countless times on here. first dude I paid attention to behind the boards and I was eleven!:wow:

Focus mentioned in an interview walking into a session where Dre, Hi-Tek and Dilla were all the studio vibing and playing each other's music :damn:

yea, Common and Kuniva or whoever the main producer for D12 is said an article for Wax Poetics in TWO THOUSAND AND SIX that they had some Dilla/Dre stories that they felt were too near and dear to disclose at that point in tkme. wonder how they feel about it now?

Yeah I got the sense most of these big name producers fukked with Dilla like that.

all them dudes fukk w/dilla.

yep, even Kanye admitted to stealing Dilla's (and a gang of other producer's) drum kits in the studio back in an interview for Scratch in '07 lol.

hes a "producer's producer"

i think you have to make beats yourself to really "get it"

not to mention he was an all-around good dude that died a fukked up death just when his career was really gaining steam

Yeah think I read on here or some message board that Dre wanted him to be a part of his "creative team" or whatever, but Dilla wanted to just do his own thing
