It's like just an innate feeling in the music. He had many styles and reinvented himself but kept constant quality. For most people including myself I was a dilla fan before I knew who he was because he had his footprints all over music I loved and I didn't piece it together until the early 2000's... Once it all came together it was just mind blowing that one man did thatSay this with all due respect,
i still don't get what was the big deal about dilla.
I got all his tapes and he's a good producer. yeah, his beats have soul and swing but is that it? what makes him goat level?
can someone break it down?
From tribe to Janet to Pharcyde to De la to slum to common even the odd one off banged like the frank n dank stuff. It was like putting together a puzzle after a long time na mean. That's dilla for me personally..
In Toronto he is a gawd but we love that Detroit sound.
Nah dre a music nerd he gets it. Dilla and Dre even Quik are on another level musically. I'd put more people down but you get the idea. BTW DJ quik is also a fan of dude. It ain't hard to believe they enjoy music from others who also quest to perfect the beat.

That can all be true...
But the fact that its comes out now isnt a coincidence..This nikka sits in the house all day..He had plenty of time to do a Dilla tribute..
I dont even think Dre cares about rhythm or the actual beat-making process anymore..As long as the drums sound good, he's fine
