:gucci: Bc Sanjay Gupta is literally CNN's chief medical correspondent and has been for like 20 yrs.

I don't plan to watch, but I did find across this little tidbit on his wiki. Looks like he got a history of just repeating what he's told by big pharma.

in a 2013 editorial, gupta announced that in the process of working on a documentary about marijuana he had changed his mind about the drug's risks and benefits. gupta had previously criticized laws that allowed patient access to medical marijuana, but he reversed his stance, saying, "i am here to apologize," and, "we have been terribly and systematically misled :comeon: for nearly 70 years in the united states, and i apologize for my own role in that"

Sanjay Gupta - Wikipedia
I would be very surprised to find that Sanjay Gupta gave the green light to run the story that Joe Rogan took horse dewormer or that such decisions are even close to being in his portfolio, that’s my point. And I doubt he’s in charge of those decisions. The media doesn’t work that way. The producers put the stories together and the reporters run them. The higher ups only get involved for the more sensitive topics and a small segment about a pop culture personality probably didn’t qualify for that level of intervention from the higher ups.

So again, if Rogan has beef with CNN for running a false story then Gupta is the wrong guy to talk to to have something done about it. At best, he might be able to use his cachet in the org to get them to do something about it but being Chief Medical Officer at CNN doesn’t mean he has much power in what stories get run especially those that he’s not directly involved in.

I’m not even defending CNN, who I find to be just like Fox News in terms of how they build biased stories, I’m just saying that Gupta is the wrong target doe Rogan’s criticisms.

I watched the entire 3hrs
I enjoyed it.

Whether you agree with whichever of the two or disagree, I enjoyed that two opposing people had a 3 hour conversation maturely.
