Where does this ridiculous idea that we need "leaders" come from?
I honestly cannot think of a single non-religious community that has a "leader."
When you start looking to other adults with chronic personality flaws as "leaders" and "examples" you already lost.
Anyway, Umar Johnson is a caricature of a "pro-Black" man, he's on point like 25% of the time, but the minute he talks about his own personal life, his goals, women, gay people, or anything outside of the US, he sounds like a moron.
Can you fatherless nikkas find someone else to daddy you? :dame:

We had community leaders at a time we didn't have power over our own communities. Never have black people had so much opportunity as today. However, we also have the least amount of oversight. That may be cool for the 1 or 2 people that make it. But without someone to teach the next generation, the gains will be short sighted.
That's what parents are supposed to do.
They teach their children the right way to do things, how they can make an impact, and the right way to live, and they do that.
We don't need the "Prince of Pan-Afrikanism" to do that.

I hear you on both parts.

1. I'm not saying this be the person to do it. I'm saying that black communities need community leaders.

2. Parents are great examples of leaders. How about those people in these communities who don't have parents, or have 1 parent who has to work to support them, or have bad parents? Are they SOL?

Pillars of the community help lead by example. Help communities make better decisions when it comes to how tax money is spent, and reinvest in their communities to help build them.

If you think this can be done on a strictly micro per household basis, i strongly disagree

I'm more along the lines of stopping the labeling of them as "community leaders."
You have Black doctors, lawyers, bankers, politicians, psychologists, business owners, teachers and the like to help improve the community.
You don't need to designate them as leaders.

Funny how the Nation can threathen a brotha, but are docile when them cacs are raging on blk folks....

:jbhmm:

No one is above analysis & criticism in the freedom struggle, including myself. Nonetheless, so as to not allow my works to be impeded by those seeking to derail my work by instigating unnecessary conflict between leaders, I have adopted a policy of "no comment" & "no collaboration" moving forward so as to keep the peace. I wish the Minister & the Nation of Islam well as they continue their works on behalf of our people. Ase"

Karma a bytch aint it.
wasn't Boyce doing, and saying the same thing , when he asked question about Umars's school???
