Most Artist/Entertainers struggle to stay relevant as many years as Umar has been in the African American zeitgeist.
Most folks have a solid 4-6 year run(2-3 albums) max then disappear.
TIMESTAMPED FOR CONVENIENCE

SIDENOTE:
I will never understand why dude won't just do a YouTube podcast/call-in show and rack in 2X the money he needs in a couple months.(NOTE - Umar doesn't have a YouTube channel people just upload clips of him) He already has podcasts for sale on his website, just release those podcasts after they've been on sale for [insert months here] and wait for AdSense. The breakfast club / roland martin interviews pulling 5+ million views and he is regularly giving lectures nationwide so there is obviously a market for his commentary.
Dude needs a dedicated media manager / team at this point. I'm surprised Charlemagne tha God hasn't gotten Dr. Umar a show on some Oprah and Iyanla Vanzant type shyt.
