The way I feel is:
Naruto at its best is >>>>>>>>>DBZ
Naruto at its worst is <<<<<<<<<DBZ

Sad thing tho is that I felt Naruto had ENORMOUS potential, to the point that it was bound to be the best action shounen anime/manga. Then Kishimoto decided to largely ignore the interesting world, tell all but 1 or 2 of his side characters to fukk off and make it about Naruto/Sasuke. Oh, and I can't forget making most of his villains have sob stories and get beat by the good guys in laughable ways. Trying to incorporate complex issues only to give them painfully simplistic conclusions hurt the series too. Now we're at a point where Kishimoto decided to cut out the pretense and fill the series with a ton of fanservice. It's LITERALLY no better than fanfiction at this point. It's not even worth reading if you trying to take it seriously.

DBZ is ok, looking back now it's nothing special when I try to avoid nostalgia. Dragonball as whole might be better.

And I'll go with the others in here that say One Piece is king. Not to say it's perfect, its got plenty of flaws (pacing, mostly mediocre action scenes, some arcs are just plain weak), but it's generally consistent, doesn't get truly awful (like Naruto does) and when One Piece is at the top of its game, it's the best. I feel only HunterxHunter matches One Piece at its best. Naruto hasn't been at its best for years. Pain invading Konoha was about to be that, but that arc had one of the worst endings I've ever seen and completely shytted on everything prior.

Story, characters, fighting, animation Naruto does everything better,
Hunter x Hunter, Bleach, Full metal alchemist beat it also by a good margin.

DBZ isn't even top 5.

I didn't have a problem with this...until Naruto learned how to use the Wind element. All that shyt basically does is give his Rasengans bigger explosions. He don't even use wind in any other way, lol.

Meanwhile, this dude Sasuke got fire shyt, lightning where he can either pierce dudes, stun them, or create a giant one from the sky, create illusions with his eye to the point where he can alter someone's perception of time without them knowing it, create a spiritual being that acts as a barrier and can fukk people up.

Naruto at its best was during the Sasuke retrieval arc, the introduction of Itachi, Zabuza arc, and the Chuunin Exams. Basically pre-timeskip.

From that moment forward it was cemented that Dragon Ball > Naruto

The DBZ fanbase, myself included, are some stubborn, intimidating nikkas. Also between DBZ and Fist of the North Star their fans can say that they birthed almost all modern action anime/manga.

it's mainly dealing with more consistent writing and character arcs. DBZ is inconsistent at times throughout its run.

And how other series like Fullmetal Alchemist and even Naruto to a certain level allow secondary characters to shine and have a moment instead of just having the main character do everything and be the only one to develop.

I know a lot of yall get caught up in witnessing DBZ for the first time back in the day and loving the characters but have any of you actually gone back and watched it? Its horrible IMO and aged even worse. Its no question IMO that Young Uzi >>>. True it ended lackluster but Part 1 up to the beginning of the war was and still is amazing. Those fights are still classic and characters even more so.
