So with an appeal, you can't present the same evidence that you did previously correct, so that means him and his team would have to build a whole new case right?
With an appeal, there are a few avenues he could go down.

The first would be claiming that there was a factual error in the trial court decision. Because this wasn’t a full trial, and the evidence presented is pretty well supported, that’ll probably result in a short appellate decision dismissing the appeal.
The second would be a claim based on interpretation of the law, though the appeals court will give strong deference to the lower court, meaning the bar for him to succeed on that claim will be very difficult, even if the trial court actually did make an error.

From my review of the decision, I don’t think he has even a *chance* of success on either of those.

We keep having these rap moments where the dumbest talking heads spend months yapping about a legal case, influencing opinions etc only for their side to lose in court. Not just lose...lose bad. And at no point do any of these people ever decide oh damn I'm not an attorney or legal expert, maybe I should shut the fukk up and bring an actual lawyer onto the show to explain this. Yet it never happens.

The other issue is that these guys have clear biases or relationships they need to protect. Mal isn't getting exclusive tracks previewed to him if he doesn't dikk ride. Same with Ak. And just so people know I'm not biased...this also applies to Peter Rosenberg and the host of pro-Kendrick/TDE people out there. This is a major reason why our media is so fukked up. Bad reviews of albums, films, television shows, etc result in restricted access. So "content" creators become consumption goblins who shovel down shyt, tap dance, and hype whatever they're tasked with hyping.

Yes a lot of people still have integrity, and yes many of them happen to be Kendrick fans (Rob Markman, Justin Hunt etc). Because they're actually journalists. And I think this current era is so fukked because people no longer differentiate talking heads from journalists.

No, you appeal the decision based on the judge applying the law wrong or doing something wrong procedurally. In some cases you can file for a motion to reargue as well. But generally, appeals court defer to the court of first instance for facts.

I will never understand the parasocial relationship straight (?) middle aged men have with Drake. Sh*t is creepy as hell.

Fred.

What's funny about Mal too is that he refused to take Joe to court because according to him going to the courts is sucka shyt. Yet he's riding so hard for Drake in this court case.

At one point I kind of understood it as ok...he's their Jay. Like remember when a lot of dudes entire public image and persona was based around whatever Jay was telling you was cool/not cool? I def remember dudes dressing like Drake, bumping his shyt. 30 year dudes was out here partying with 18yo girls or bumping Drake from the whip trying to get them lmao. And he had tracks at that time that were in line with what a dude would want to fukk with. NWTS era type shyt that was bumping out whips.

But at this point, years into a clear musical decline where less and less tracks are for dudes? I don't get it at all. It feels like the final years of G-Unit stans who would talk nonstop about Soundscan numbers or who was hot/not based on sales. Remember when grown ass men would be hyping those wack ladies tracks 50 kept pushing out before he flopped lol? The music is borderline irrelevant at this point, he's just the avatar they live through vicariously. And I think this weird Twitch streaming era is perfect for this behavior, because it's just a bunch of dudes watching "cool" guys hang with bytches, ride in nice cars, go on vacations etc.

I remember very faint signs of this behavior with Jay fans post-"Ether".

The prototype for Drake stans is 50 Cent stans. But even 50 stans were not remotely on this level.

Regardless, the common thread for Jay, 50, and Drake stans is the internet.

And standom has only gotten worse due to social media. Now it's possible to insulate yourself from reality. It's how OVO Docket can spend a year pretending to be an attorney, get proven wrong at every turn, block everyone and still continue til this day to give "legal insight" on the case.

Mal peddling Drake holding on to evidence and proof like it's a fukking Super Meter in Street Fighter. :dead: "Oh you know, lost the lawsuit but, just waiting for the right amount of appeals before I show the irrefutable evidence." :what:

Remindms me of that J Prince shyt, red button, w/e. Always supposedly has something ready to go but never use it. :beli:
