Mal peddling Drake holding on to evidence and proof like it's a fukking Super Meter in Street Fighter. :dead: "Oh you know, lost the lawsuit but, just waiting for the right amount of appeals before I show the irrefutable evidence." :what:

Remindms me of that J Prince shyt, red button, w/e. Always supposedly has something ready to go but never use it. :beli:
Yeah I was gonna say, if Drake and his lawyers had this proof he's hinting at, they would of presented it with everything else, you don't go in half cooked and shyt when your case can get thrown out like it did.

And I can't remember in the original, but wasn't he asking UMG to give him proof of the dave free shyt and other shyt like that.

So it sounds like his team really didn't have shyt.

At one point I kind of understood it as ok...he's their Jay. Like remember when a lot of dudes entire public image and persona was based around whatever Jay was telling you was cool/not cool? I def remember dudes dressing like Drake, bumping his shyt. 30 year dudes was out here partying with 18yo girls or bumping Drake from the whip trying to get them lmao. And he had tracks at that time that were in line with what a dude would want to fukk with. NWTS era type shyt that was bumping out whips.

But at this point, years into a clear musical decline where less and less tracks are for dudes? I don't get it at all. It feels like the final years of G-Unit stans who would talk nonstop about Soundscan numbers or who was hot/not based on sales. Remember when grown ass men would be hyping those wack ladies tracks 50 kept pushing out before he flopped lol? The music is borderline irrelevant at this point, he's just the avatar they live through vicariously. And I think this weird Twitch streaming era is perfect for this behavior, because it's just a bunch of dudes watching "cool" guys hang with bytches, ride in nice cars, go on vacations etc.

This is the problem when the artist base everything on sales and being number 1. The day the sales slow down and the music ain't that good you have nothing left to offer and the fans can't even argue on shyt

Mal is 44 plus. Jay is "his Jay" :francis:

Lemme hit you with a theory I told my brother. Ask yourself why is Joe Budden (pre-beef), Ish, Mal, Math Hoffa, and a host of dusty dudes always on the Drake bandwagon. Drake was the last mainstream rapper they fukked with aesthetically and he allowed them access to younger scenes, parties, hoes etc. He has a flow, had dope beats and was taking money shyt on records. If you were 32 in 2012 he was your last chance to relate to college age kids and fukk young girls.

These guys weren’t trying to hear Cole rap about losing his virginity or Kendrick rap about west coast shyt. Drake was the closest to Jay in terms of shyt talking, and the closest to 50 in terms of sales. And they could bump it while looking for (young) hoes. This also explains why none of these guys like any new rap and complain about the game being down because Drake is down lol.

"Drake lost, but artistic freedom won last week when a federal court in New York dismissed the rapper’s case against UMG Recordings."
"The case against UMG over Kendrick Lamar's diss track 'Not Like Us' rested on rap lyrics being seen as facts. Artistic expression won out in the end."

Yes he could have.

He usually drops every 1-2 years. The battle ended spring 2024. He could've not dropped anything until summer 2025 and act as if the battle never happened. As long as the music was decent it would've went a long way towards rebuilding his reputation.

Instead he did goofy social media antics, gambling streams, tried to align himself with alt-right streamers like Adin Ross, and basically dropped music nonstop. I do not recall any point prior to 2024-2025, where he dropped the sheer volume of music he did, in such a short time frame.

Not to mention the weird ass "Iceman" episodes which nobody cares about. The two biggest Drake fans I know are college aged black girls (20-21) and neither knew anything about those, or that he had an album coming out. At some point they tuned out because he was dropping so much sh*t.

And then the law suit on top of all that.

Fred.

Looks like you been tapped in :russ:

Drake is also one of few big dogs that acknowledge their existence, almost as if he craves validation from whoever gives it
