Drake is 38. Kendrick will be 38 in 6 months. Is this bad for rap?

What does it say that the two biggest artists are essentially less than 2 years away from turning 40 and the biggest artists in Rap music?

Is this unusual or is it normally around this age that artists peak or reach their biggest draws?

It just feels to me that artists tended to shine a little earlier. BUT…rappers are releasing albums now into their 40s and seeing success.

Is this a refusal of the OGs from stepping aside or is the game different for everyone regardless and everyone should just get in where they fit in?

I know you not looking for a real answer since you a real unserious nikka but it's actually good for rap. No other genre is seen as a "young man's game" except rap. Rap is getting older so naturally so should it's stars.

Yeah, he unintentionally agenda'd his way into a good thread :pachaha:

It started like 20 years ago tho. Jay and Nas were in they 30s. I think that was the start of rappers having more longevity as rappers

Labels investing in rappers in their late 30s is…a choice...

Who are they supposed to be stepping aside for?

There is no next superstar that era is over with, artists are just going to have a hot year and rotate from this point.
I think Tyler's solidified his spot, he's just alternative.

Lil baby and gunna falling out stunted baby who probably would be one.

Youngboy not having even some semblance of sense halted his trajectory.
