Peak for peak...
  • I'd rather hear a Drake verse and Drake song than Kanye verse and Kanye song
  • I'd rather hear a Kanye album and Kanye production over Drake album and Drake production
All things mentioned above can and is true :manny:

Your wrong tho
Drake is a stronger rhymer of words sure but cannot extend past the words itself
Kanye will show you his current emotion with personality and his songs go beyond “women are trash if they don’t fukk me and my enemies scared of Toronto “

What great visions did Kanye have? :russ:

Dropping an album full of poppy stadium anthems, which was a shift from his usual chipmunk soul sampled earlier work
Then switching it up to do a electro-pop/synthwave infused album that influenced a generation
Then switching it up again to make a grandiose, baroque, critic friendly hip hop epic of an album that's still talked about as one of the GOATs
Then doing a complete 180 pivot into making a minimalist, almost abrasive industrial influenced album, but yet to critical acclaim
etc.

Not to mention his vision in fashion.

:manny:

As a fan of rap first, I'm thankful we had someone like prime Ye to push the culture forward, rather than a Canadian culture vulture who takes but never gives and is one of the reasons why the culture is where is today.

Let’s just say if Drake dropped anything half as impressive as Graduation people would immediately start looking for his ghostwriters

Kanye pretentious music was never great either

This is like saying Jay Z is nowhere near Dr. Dre. Kanye like Dre is a producer first and foremost who became an artist. Both moved the culture and arguably you could say Dre moved culture more than Jay Z considering NWA and the artists Dre put on. There's also the argument that you could put Chronic and 2001 up against any Jay album. Can't really use a sales argument either. Same with Kanye and Drake.

One thing I’ll give is Kanye was a very good producer and College Dropout was a classic along with Late Registration. He’s more of a creative artist than Drake.

Kanye has classic albums. Drake doesn't. Drake's commercial run is impressive obviously but the actual quality of music doesn't match it.

I didn't even think there was a debate. Kanye made hits and classics for everybody around him. Drake TOOK hits away from people around him. Let's be reality. A lot of the best work for the people that worked with Kanye, came from Kanye. He gave them their best material which they built their careers on. Jay-Z being the biggest one to benefit.

Kanye is a creator in many aspects and he recreated himself many times over. We can dump him into other genres I'm sure he can recreate his success again. I think Drake captured a sound and was in the right moment for that sound. Drake doesn't have the flexibility to do it. Drake is #1 in the Drake lane. Kanye has many lanes.
