Drake the new Jay Z & Kendrick the new Nas

These 2 cats are head and shoulders better than the rest of the competition. They will run this rap game for the next decade. All the rest of the midi over cats will come and go but they will remain the staple from this era like Jay and Nas from the 90's. I'm just glad that somebody finally stepped up cyz it was looking bad for the new cats.

Neither Kendrick or Drake are as good lyrically as Nas and Jay in their primes. They'll probably be the dominant figures of hip-hop for a long time to come but as far as quality rhyming goes, they're not even playing in the same league.

J. Cole doesn't have the public appeal like Jay and Lupe jus doesn't appeal to the streets like Nas did and does. Drake and Kendrick is a better comparison tithe 2 greats.

You listen to The Warm Up and that shyt was reminiscent of Reasonable Doubt... yeah not in terms of quality but the hunger, the tales, the aggression, the smoothness. Of course, he doesn't appeal like Jay, but he was *supposed* to back in like 09 and 2010.

Lupe isn't exactly the "street poet" Nas was, but he's definitely in my opinion the closest that's ever come to replicating Nas and he combined streets and brains into one formula successfully. His path was still set on being the Nas of our generation until he dropped FNL2.

Drake came from privilege, fronts about a life in the streets, sings about women over soft ass 40 beats, and is just a bytch overall. Jay wasn't even hitting like that commercially anyways so that comparison is just inaccurate.

Now that I think about it, Kendrick is actually a pretty good representation of Nas, but Lupe is still better :lupgawd:

Why do they need to be the new anything, theirs no need to place them in boxes like that?

It's almost a backhanded compliment I mean they are different people who grew up in different places they see the world from a different viewpoint, and that affects their content and the way they approach making music.

Each rapper, singer, musician works must be able to stand on it's own.

They are the Drake and Kendrick of this generation get it right.
