This should be a 40 and Boida appreciation thread,

Y'all talking about Beat Selection likw hw going through beats from various producers when those cats are making beats specifically for him.....

Ill never knock that OVO production, it always on point and fits Drake well. But lyrically I don't see the growth. The subject matter of all those tracks is pretty much the same basically either braggadocios tracks or tracks about females and how he isn't ready to settle down..... I just wish the dude would take some risk or try to doing something new or fresh lyric wise and !maybe do some concept songs

I'm conflicted because his recent tracks knock but they just dont have the replay value that his old stuff did. 40s production's dipped a little bit, maybe because of his health or the next project or whatever, but i think 40s production brings the best out of drake lyrically

Lets be honest his last real noteworthy track was 5am in Toronto. Nothing on NWTS matched those bars. Even Jodeci Back Freestyle was better than anything on NWTS. He seems to be coasting and satisfied with his position. I thought when K.Dot dropped control and GKMC he would have tried to set that bar high. But nothing was the same wasn't impressive lyrically at all.
