Think about it, he takes credit for peoples beats, and the beats he does make are either super simple or just an old ass beat from da 70s das already made, that he just added some drums and snares too.

Pretty average dude

If it wasnt for Snoop and them, none of his beats during the death row days would be considered classics.

Snoop made dre a "super producer"

Nah Kayne bytch ass put together orchestral heat...he's elite. But Dre's success has a lot to do with good business strategy.

That's why "Tha Doggfather" was such a great album right? :mjpls:

That's why Snoop didn't make another good album until he got back with Dre on "Tha Last Meal" right? :stopitslime:

As a beatmaker, I have to agree...

Technically speaking, Dre is BASIC as hell...All his greatest beats are straight loops or compositions by professional musicians...

If you compare Dre to a Techno/Trance/DnB producer, then you will hear how basic dude is...Those electronic producers got a million and one sounds going, with side chain compression, breakdowns with hi pass and low pass filters and etc...

Techniques that I have noticed Drill Music producers are beginning to incorporate in their sounds...

U can say the same for heatmakers. Dipset the only squad that coulda made them instrumentals into hot songs. Thats half of producing in my opinion. Not only making a hot beat but finding an artist that matches ya production style.

Dre does a good job with pairing his beats to rappers that's can flow on his shyt. Of course u got nikkas like alchemist that can make beats for just about any artist or an artist like nas or jada that can make wack beats into listenable songs wit their flow...but at the end of the day production and the artist rapping on it go hand in hamd for the most part

producer doesn't necessarily mean make beats man, only in hiphop does that misconception exist....rick rubin is one of the dopest producers of all time and cant play any instruments....dre knows how to take raw talent and groom that artist into a great song maker...he has a vision for what direction the artist/song needs to go in...dre is a top 5 producer across any genre...there's a reason why a dre produced record sounds sonically better than everybody else's...if anything the title of this thread should be reversed bc dre can take an average MC and make him sound great...i know the direction this thread is gonna go in so im not even gonna entertain this argument

When you trolling for thread numbers, you should come with some bulletproof ( or seemingly bulletproof) talking points.

not something that anybody with half a care could body with some non-lengthy post.

if Dre is so average, what exactly are Daz,Scott Storch,Mel Man,Sam Sneed without Dre?

you judge a producer by complete projects not beats

and as far as rap there's nobody close to dre

NWA
Snoop Dog
Eminem
50
Game
Kendrick Lamar

he's responsible for all these artist projects

you have to understand the producer is somebody who puts the project together
