Dropping the rent in the nightbox at the apartment office

real talk, the only time I drop the rent check in the night box is during the day when the office is open because I know they will empty it out before they leave for the day. I would never leave my check sitting in the drop box over night

also I always put the check in an envelope before putting it in the drop box

most of the time I just walk in, but one of the office guys is always trying to get me to pay online, rent is the only thing I write a check for, its my preference so whats the big deal

dont do it, I would much rather take the extra 10 seconds and walk in and hand the check over to someone working inside

I feel you....that's why you should get a money order instead, and hold onto the receipt, that way they can't claim you paying late......plus you can get a fresh money order if somehow it doesn't make it to the hands of the right person in the office if you decide to do it and no one is in there at the time.

getting a money order is more of a hassle, so the only thing i use them for is my rent, fill it out and hand it to the manager. Money order I have to go somesomewhere to get one

once I finish up my remaining 20 or so checks, i might move to the money order
