...i witnessed some mess at the last one i went to. no funeral fighting, but definitely some funeral f**kery.
i went to the funeral of a tai chi master that my girl knew when she was studying it. we got there kind of late and it was crowed at the church, so my girl and i sat pretty far back. two rows in front of us was this young chic, dressed like she was about to hit the club afterwards, crying all loud. imma call her abby. after about 20 minutes, i figured abby was the tai chi master's daughter, but i didn't understand why she wasn't sitting with the family, who was way up front.
off to my right, an infant started wailing. she went on for 10 or so minutes before the child's mother took her out into the hall way. i'll call the infant's mother, coral. my girl looked over at me and jokingly told me the infant was probably chopping it up with the spirit of the tai chi master. after a minute or two out in the hall, the mother brings the infant back in, and she brings the child over to sit right next to abby. abby and coral console each other, so i figured they knew each other well.
the next part of the funeral was a karate demonstration put on by the infant's father. i'll call him bobby. before bobby does his thing, he tells the church that he studied under the tai chi master for a decade, and literally was his shadow the whole time before his death.
after the service, my girl introduces me to everyone there who was of importance. on the way home, i couldn't shake the notion that there was f**kery afoot and i might have missed it, but i just couldn't put my finger on it. i asked my girl why wasn't abby sitting with the ti chi master's wife up front. she told me because abby wasn't family, she was ol' boys side piece, but the wife and everybody already knew about this. so that was why she cried the hardest at the funeral, but wasn't sitting with the family. i never understood why side pieces fall through at the funeral, but i digress...
it was juicy info, but i still wasn't satisfied yet. there was still something i felt weird about. i told my girl i wasn't convinced the infant was bobby's daughter. right then my girl looked over at me and her eyes got extremely big and told me she thought the same thing. without an actual dna test, i don't go by dark and light skin, but something was off here. coral is mixed with asian and something else that is not of african descent. bobby is my tone or darker, but their infant looks like the product of two very light skinned parents. my girl said she thinks the child is the tai chi master's and it would make sense seeing as though he was mixed as well and spent a lot of time with bobby and coral. the tai chi master also knew of bobby putting hands on coral, so he could have comforted and consoled the panties off her. when we got back to the crib, she pulled up pictures of the infant and put them side by side to the tai chi master's pics of when he was younger. right then i was convinced that was his seed. it had me think back to the service when the infant wouldn't stop crying and baby talking during the funeral....she really was chopping it up with her pops one last time.
