What do you mean convince? Pop is the coach. And he's got the rings and record that speak for itself. He ain't Mike D'Antoni. If he says someone sits, they fukking sit.
And sitting Parker is smart. He's a little guy, he handles the ball most of the time, stays in the lane and takes a lot of hard hits. If 2 of the big 3 are going to sit anyway, you might as well give the 3rd guy a rest to keep him fresh and healthy. Back to back #1 seeds says the strategy works. And Ginobili and Duncan still got hurt in 2011 DESPITE sitting several games.

I don't think the Spurs have that one guy on their team who can take over and put them over the top (with Duncan having declined). I think it's why they came up short the last few years.
The way they function as a unit is impressive, and I really like what they've done by bringing in young guys like Leonard. But in hotly-contested playoff series, I don't think they have enough.
