The sequel pulled in $700mil+ WW, is on its third film, had a spinoff that got HBO airtime on Sunday nights, and will most likely be milked once Denis wraps things up here. The franchise has already "made it".

Spinoff doesn't really matter.
Legendary owns the rights they can do what they want.

That said the story was needlessly crippled by the second movie. Made no sense why Denis did it either but it hurts the franchise seriously moving forward.

dune 1 and 2 were excellent classic movies. dune has a much better story line without all this multiverse bs. definitely seeing this ahead of avengers 3.

i'd even go as far to say, dune 1 and 2 have more replay value than infinity war or end game.
