Naah. Jeezy had his lane, but best rapper wasn't it. Even he didn't even consider himself a rapper. Jeezy's charisma, the ad-libs, and just overall real talk is what made him. Couple that with the production that he had and Jeezy's music was :wow:.

a lot of critics was gettin' on him for that whole "but he doesn't rap" shyt and just when you would've thought he'd cool off, he came back with the recession

he made better music than wayne, to me. and by far too

Jeezy making better music is something I agree with even though Carter 2 is equally as good as anything Jeezy put out during that era IMO. Still, Wayne had hypnotized what seemed like the entire world into believing he was Jay Z's heir. No matter how wack or nonsensical his rhymes were, people still swore Wayne was spitting the most incredible bars ever uttered on wax.

Edit: I take that back, The Recession is better than anything Wayne's released IMO. Still don't agree that Jeezy was the better overall rapper though.

I wasn't even a fan of Lil Wayne like that but he was definitely ahead of Jeezy in Bars. (IMO it doesnt mean he was the best rapper alive tho)

But as an artist, I thought he was overrated. In that arena you could make an arguement for Jeezy. But then again you could always throw in Ti, Kanye, etc.

Wayne's free associated bars made for interesting verses but his albums lacked a clear concept. Wayne was a pure battle rapper carried by great singles. His best songs at the time were freestyles and The Carter 3 was pretty much a big budget mixtape.
