It's like Disney/Marvel pissed Chad hid his condition from them and been on some petty shyt trying to bury the character he played while still wanting to profit off the brand.
And also, just how much depth is the combat gonna have if you're developing for 5+ different characters types (weapons/gadgets/etc) and we're locked into that choice for the duration of the play-through?
It'd be like limiting Kratos to only his Chaos Blades, then creating two other characters to give his ice axe and spear too, and limiting which ones get to use the rage and the hilt abilities. All because you don't want the game to revolve around the cash cow of the game.

And what do they do with spiderman, Just keep it Peter Parker? No they want a whole spiderverse of spiderman characters. Miles, Spiderwoman, Spidergwen, 2099, spiderpunk etc.
They are trying to expand black panther into a franchise not just a solo character. They see the money in it. They want a black panther verse.

They planning a dora milage tv show literally called the world of wakanda or some shyt. There goal is clearly to establish every character in the black panther mythos as mainstream.

the death of T’challa is like a big part of who this character is now in pop culture because its so tied to Chadwick‘s death now. Imagine if they killed superman and now everyone is superman because of christopher reeves death

"live action"is a strange quantifier. Sonys second biggest property right now is the miles universe.

I think that with a multiverse in play recasting isn't necessary, You can keep chadwick Canon, and bring in a new t'challa from another dimension.
You don't have to force to audience to pretend another person was there the whole time,, Like we have to do with Rhodey every time they reference something that happened in Iron Man 1 to don cheadle. It sucks.
