Honestly, Reid had kind of reached his ceiling in Philly. He made it as far with Donovan as he would have with anyone else. They gave him like 13 years, at that point he kind of got stagnant. Not saying we had an option to trade up, but we weren't gonna win with him and the overall situation we had. We chose to take a risk rather than go with what we already knew couldn't get a Superbowl.
He inherited a Pro Bowl defense and running back.
People are acting like he built the team up from scratch.
No, he needed to go. His formula had worn stale here and he lost the locker room last season. Anybody who thinks otherwise didn’t follow this team and is just being spoon-fed by the pro-Andy Reid national media.
Chip Kelly will be fine if and when he gets (a) his own QB, and (b) his own defensive players.
But the Eagles BIGGEST problem is something we can’t do anything about….and that’s Jeffire Lurie. As long as that dude owns this team, we’re not winning anything.
