read it again though and it says it's from a UBS checking account. UBS is a swiss based company so if their US branches use the swiss banking system then I think it is possible to access accounts just with the account number

Yea, I don't anything about UBS accounts but I find it hard to believe they'd have that little security for account access (withdrawals...no one minds deposits).

The more I think about it the more it seems like the standard misinformation from the news article and dude found more than just his ain't numbers (like one doc with his account number listed, another with his address, another with his SSN). The media routinely gets shyt wrong
