This was literally the soundtrack for all of my middle school days. Ja Rule was that nikka, I heard Livin’ It Up on the radio nearly everyday on the ride home from school, til 50 came through and knocked the wind outta bruhs whole career then it was G-UnitMania from like 03’ up until Game left and started fryin them nikkas with the 100 bars t
series. That whole time period was :banderas:tho. Some of my best memories in hip-hop come from that era

What you mean bullshyt. EVERYTHING was better back then. Music is a layup. I don't even need to argue it. Sports was also way better back then. You had Kobe, Iverson, T-Mac, Vince Carter, KG, Shaq, etc. all in their primes. NBA stars were actually spread across the league back then leading to excitement all year long. Greatest Show on Turf was running the NFL. Along with the Ravens defense. Not this p*ssy throw the ball around the field all day crap.

When it comes to life, people were living much better off. Remember gas was cheap as hell back then. I chose 504 boyz song TIGHT WHIPS to be the first video I posted cause it embodied the EXCESS of that era. Everyone was driving Hummers and SUVs back then that were running through gas like it was nothing. But nobody cared cause the gas was cheap. Also everyone had rims on their cars. Employment was much higher back then. You didn't have millions of dudes with college degrees that can't get jobs.

All in all, there is no denying that 2000-2004 was a far better ERA than the one we live in right now. American life has basically been falling apart since 2005. That is when the downfall started.

I kinda agree with you but the 'downfall' really happened after 9/11. that changed the vibe of the country so much and so many bullshyt cottage industries have popped up parlaying off of everyone's fears since then. police are militarized now. people are way more on edge. the entire culture of the country was different before 9/11 happened...night and day honestly. 2002-2003 was low-key awesome though. but the country before 9/11 was such a better place. I can list a million and one reasons why. pre-9/11 america and especially NYC specifically was so much more poppin

also the jersey / girbaud look ...honestly im glad that shyt is gone :russ: not that the shyt today is any better but those 3xl shirts and pinwheel fitteds were horrible

today? everything is forced and contrived. 70s and 80s babies are running everything and they can't think of one damn original idea, so they force their nostalgia down kids throats and won't let kids today grow and develop their own legends and their own era. and the kids that are trying to grow their own era are just patch-working shyt off of previously existing movements. everything feels forced and corny. social media brings out the worst in everyone as well
