Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair gameplay, screenshots

Updated PlayStation 4 port due out next month in Japan.

D3 Publisher has released a direct-feed gameplay video and new screenshots of Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair.
The PlayStation 4 update to Earth Defense Force 2025 will feature 89 offline missions and 98 online missions. The amount of enemies and their positions, as well as the patterns in which they appear have been retuned. It also features improved graphics and additional story content, including kaiju-versus-robot battles.
Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair is due out for PlayStation 4 in Japan on April 2.

XSEED Games is bringing D3 Publisher’s Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair to PlayStation 4 in North America this fall, the publisher announced.

The wild sci-fi action of the Earth Defense Force series comes to the PS4 system for the first time in this complete reimagining of Earth Defense Force 2025, now with silky smooth framerates, beefed-up graphics, and over 50% new content. After selecting from one of four unique playable classes and customizing their weapons, players will lead NPC troops into city-wide battles against hordes of seemingly endless giant bugs, robots, and other colossal enemies. Two players can enjoy local co-op and versus modes, while online co-op supports up to four players to increase the odds against this massive alien threat.

Gotta assault rifle that does 100 damage every shot with 8 in the clip and a grenade launcher, carpet b0mb launcher or rocket launcher for everyone else.

No. I didn't know there were 90 story missions. I destroyed the mothership and thought I was near the end. I'm not even half way.

There are 89 missions in in singleplayer with 98 online, with the full online level count increased to 146 with DLC.
More people should be playing this.

Shoot an invite. I'll have my new TV Saturday by noon so I'll be tryin to play something.

I'm stuck on this mission in the 40s with a ton of fukkin ants bees and spiders converging on me from 3 different nests hidden behind buildings.

I'm a ranger So im just leveling the entire city. Tortoise pointless. Rockets and a one hitter quitter assault rifle. But they overwhelming me. Had one more nest last night and got swared by spiders and hornets

Ended up going in with a grenade launcher and another rocket launcher that shoots 12 muscles at a time in a spread. Straight up crowd control. Destroyed then nests.

Catch you next time gettin the tv set up and wall mounting the other one ate up my weekend.
