Ever cook a fresh juicy steak only for it to be rough as leather the next day? :scusthov:
This is the leftovers unappreciation thread and possible solution to making it as fresh as when u first cooked it.

Steak(and just about every other meat): juicy and tender down to the middle :takedat:

Problem: turns into leather the next day after reheating it :scusthov:

Solution: let the cooked meat sit out until it reaches room temp. Get a small pan and pour one cap of vegetable oil into pan. Coat both sides of the steak and simmer on low for three mins each side.

Results: slowly cooks without over cooking and allows the oil to tenderized the steak making it juicy once again.

Spaghetti: freshly cooked with fresh tomatoe sauce and soft noodles

Problem: when reheated, noodles get hard and sauce evaporates turning into hard watered noodles :scust:

Solution: for the noodles, put one table spoon of butter in a bowl of spaghetti, stir around making sure to mix well, microwave or heat until melted. As for the sauce,it's always best to never combined all of the sauce with the noodles. Always spoon it from another container onto noodles because the sauce itself easily reheats without losing taste/quality. Otherwise you're better off cooking another can/bottle of sauce as there won't be much left on the left over noodles.

Results: the noodles end up being freshly soft again with the butter being used as a flavor enhancer and softener. Never use water to soften the noodles because it does the opposite and gives it a nasty watery taste.

Feel free to add on or ask in here for any solutions to making a leftover taste fresh again.

For reheating meat/chicken, rice, and pasta I just fold up a few wet paper towels over the food and heat it up in the microwave. It creates a steam effect and prevents the food from drying up/hardening. This jawn in college put me on to that.

Here's another tip for u bakers. Whenever u are baking a cake or brownies or anything similar, replace the water ingredient with milk. Makes it more structured and better tasting. My man always asks me why does my brownies taste so much better and I hit him with the milk ingredient.
