they were debating about many other things but the battle rap discussion starts around 13:00 mark...

Ebro is saying that he doesn't understand why they battle rap now a days without a beat...

he's very fixated on that for some reason...I dont see what the big deal is

I do agree with him that the gun metaphors are overly done

Buckshot, of Black Moon, the legend. I remember a while back he did a track or 2 with my boy Warbux, a Rapmusic.com audio battle rapper that's been around since atleast '99. Warbux should have made a splash in this live battle rap shyt, he screwed up a little while back in his debut on KOTD though, against Kaliente. Coming unprepared, he messed up, he'd be a damn threat if he put the work in. Ness Lee battled him on one of the GRBs at Rapmusic.com years ago, and it was a classic audio battle. I still have Ness's verse saved as a matter of fact. Buckshot definitely supports the battle rap world though.

So...to break down something to its rawest form...straight vocal assaults... is a bad thing?

Battling & cyphers over a beat are great.

But shakespearan potential of battling acapella...where you can control the flow & delivery instead of having to be constrained by riding a beat can be :blessed:

You can stop and allow the crowd to absorb the last few bars and visibly see how long it takes for it to explode in their head like

Processing Bars...:leostare: Kinda getting it...:patrice: Wait.. he meant.....:gladbron: But it also means oh shyt! :whoo:

Why try to downplay another form of sparring?
