Friends... Putting the full length Echo Party Movie out there for a few days. Did all the music for this (built around some great pre-existing rapp/disco/new wave recordings), and celluloid maestro Tom Fitzgerald compiled/edited/assembled the visual imagery to meticulously coincide. Check it out if you haven't yet had the chance. (For optimum effect, wait until you've a got a half-hour to spare and if possible, watch it on something other than your phone... and listen to it either with headphones or a reasonable speaker system.) Throughout our conversation, Edan is upbeat and thoughtful, and it’s not as if he hasn’t been working: He recently wrapped up recording a rock EP, while subsequently preparing another hip-hop solo project and playing DJ gigs, including the upcoming 10-year anniversary party for the monthly experimental party music night Beat Research at Good Life on May 1."

“I’m trying to understand whether I’m wise or lazy; it’s hard to tell sometimes,” he says. “I was never a career-oriented person. I care about the nuances of music and sound, and that matters to me more than anything. I’ve witnessed a lot of my peers have greater success because they are focused on the business side of things. I will say that their music isn’t always that interesting, but their careers probably fared a little better.”

I respect that he wants to take his time and make sure that the shot comes out right. On the other hand, he may be a perfectionist who needs someone to tell him when it's good enough. In any event, that tweet is two years old and still nothing. He's an immense talent and it feels like he's wasting away.

The Edan show in BK last night was dope. Even tighter and more composed than the last time in 2010. Edan is always a great time. Got a chance to speak to him for a good minute after the show. Learned some things that will be amazing if they come to fruition.
