George, the head coach at Tennessee State for the past four seasons, has emerged as a candidate to become the next head coach at Bowling Green, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN.com.

Interesting. I know he loves the Tennessee area obv + luv coaching in that league but at the same time resources are limited where he is, profile isn't as large & you obv wanna move up in the ranks as a coach. It was a good launching pad for Urban :ehh:

TSU is tough and they're going through financial trouble, but Bowling Green might be even harder. You're in arguably the worst FBS conference, you can't compete NIL wise, plus your revenue sharing is gonna be lower than the competition as well. It's not a coincidence only 3 black coaches in MAC history have gone on to accept bigger jobs

Turner Gill - Buffalo>Kansas
Mike Haywood - Miami (OH)>Pitt (never coached a game because of domestic violence)
Dino Babers - Bowling Green>Syracuse

As someone who has actually watched the FCS and followed Eddie. He was one of the most impressive FCS coaches in the nation last year. His son is a legit baller too. He's not that far from Prime. Just doesn't recruit as well as Prime but he can recruit his ass off and his scouting department is pretty good. This is with limited resources and they play PWIs so it was always more difficult for them to win

It's not much different. Plus you want Eriq to get FBS eyes like Alexander and Mitchell who played at Toledo got. Two good years and Eddie will be at a P4 or in the NFL.

Knew he was gone when he interviewed for the Bears job. Like I said, he definitely left the program in better shape than when he got there. Appreciate it EG.
