It’s funny how Eddie got called homophobic for his jokes, but he was ahead of his time offering a tranny a lift home in the 90s. If he did that now, he’d be called progressive.

Eddie, if you’re reading this, you can use that as an opener.

very true

HOWEVER

Eddie and Dave are two different people in two different stages of life. Eddie is about to make a comeback after almost TWO DECADES away and I feel like he’s at a point where he wants the critical acclaim and “love” he once had. That means ingratiating yourself into the new norm, which means acceptance of the Gay community.

Dave proved he didn’t give a fukk when he walked away from Chappelle show. Dave also was a little more used to the “grind” than Eddie as Eddie was a wonder child who got famous VERY quickly whereas Dave walked away right as he was about to obtain that status.

This is all true brotha and good points. Also Dave walked away from Hollywood twice. And has said on many occasions that he is prepared to walk away again.

So that basically tells you where he stands.

I’m not expecting much from his special. He doesn’t have that hunger anymore. Dave at least has the hunger to defy society. I know Eddie has matured in another way so I expect his comedy to be about family mostly.

If he addresses the true elephant in the room, tranny pick up story and Johnny Gill rumors, he’ll have gold on his hands.

Also we have to understand as great as a comic that eddie was he was never a political comic.

That was the dikk gregory's, Paul Mooneys and george carlins (even Chris Rock) of the world.

Eddie was never in that category. Eddie was about taking regular shyt in life and making a joke about it and doing impersonations.

Second folks saying Eddie Standups are boring and cringe worthy don't even realize that the reason that is......is the same reason Richard Pryors jokes are the same. Cause EVERY MOTHAfukkA THE LAST 50 YEARS have bitten off of them.

Eddie implemeted Richard comedy in his jokes then folks implemented Eddie comedy into their jokes.

Damn near every comedian has bitten off of Eddie and Richard. They are considered to true goats.

So let me get this straight when if comes to america.

Can say the F word in movies (like mob movies) and cartoon comedies like boondocks.....and thats all good.

But you say the F word in stand up comedy ......and thats all bad.

Can slap, shoot, stab and kill women in tv shows and movies.....and thats all good.

But you say you will slap a woman in stand up comedy ...and thats all bad.

Can shoot up and murder people in adult cartoons and in movies...and thats all good.

But you shoot up people in video games...and thats all bad.

Even with all that above you can say the N word in/on movies, tv shows, adult cartoons, radio, music....and yet that is always and I mean always all good.
