I just wanna preface this with that fact that I'm a 90s baby so I may just be ignorant. . Well I just decided to look up Elgin Baylor and was blown away by his numbers, highlights, and accolades. I mean 27.4p-13.5r-4.6a a game:wtf:. This guy was the man:banderas:. The fact that he basically revived the lakers should make him a sure fire top 10 player of all time:salute:. If he played in a more modern era he would've been in the GOAT convo cause his knee injuries would be cake to deal with. It might just be my ignorance but he doesn't seem to get the recognition has other old school greats:ld:. At 6'5" his scoring, rebounding, and passing skills were off the charts:whew:. Old heads yall need to do your job and educate us

He also did all that while effectively playing in the NBA as a hobby. He was in the military and only played on the weekends for a lot of his career. So that's basically no practice or training. Who knows how much better he could have been if he was able to fully dedicate himself from the start.

:whoo:

Are you for real??? The record books need to have asterisks next to all of the modern cats beating these old school dudes records.

I think Elgin got the shaft historically because everyone remembers him as the "architect" of those terrible Clipper teams. Now we know it was on Sterling's directive, but everyone blamed Elgin during those runs.

He also did not get to the league until he was 24 because of academic issues. You have cats with his talent today like Lebron and Kobe who have been in the league since 18.

elgin baylor had just as much talent as any other top 5 wing player of all time.

without looking up stats or making a list..i would think he's top 10 nba players ever. he's definitely one of the most underrated players ever.
