Such an obvious pivot, too.
"For years, I asked who wanted to walk with Elias. But walking don't get shyt done.
I think it's about time we lit a fire - walking is out... it's time to run."
Give him a month of RAWs squashing the 24/7 division now without anything to do... have them actively running from him backstage like they used to run after Reggie... and you're literally done.
No gimmick outside of him being a stoic, no-frills asskicker and let the rest of the character shape itself on the road and through his feuds. Whole rehab takes one in-ring promo followed by a sub-2 minute squash where they have dude knee Akira Tozawa clean out his ninja gimmick, and maybe a commercial-break-length match on each RAW. Takes less time than any of those vignettes they wasted, and no film/editing crew required at all so it's damn sure cheaper.
The company is obtuse. They act like it's rocket science when it's literally just muscular performance theatre.
At best, it's a-rhythmic battle rap.
They think it's more complicated than it is, so they've complicated it to make themselves seem right, when... as we continue to see, the people who succeed in this era are doing variations of the same shyt that worked in previous ones, and the people with the gimmicks run through focus groups and shyt all end up crashing and burning.
