People who dine-and-dash are typically some of the worst around. I'm not talking about a homeless person who walks into a diner and leaves after not footing the $2.75 bill for the morning 2-egg, toast, and coffee special at your local diner. I'm talking about people that are out to have a good time on someone else's dime who have no qualms about ruining everyone else's evening to make theirs.

Someone like 23-year-old Donna-Marie Bridgeman and her 26-year-old boyfriend, Shaun Cattermole.

The two went out for dinner at a popular UK restaurant called The Unruly Pig for a dinner date filled with drinks.

The pair racked up nearly £150 (roughly $200 USD) for the evening and were nowhere to be found when the person waiting on them went to check in on how things were winding down.

The two were caught making a run for it on the UK's all-seeing CCTV with an unfinished bottle of wine in tow, forcing them to plead guilty once they were brought to court to face charges.

Both were ordered to pay the restaurant £73.92 ($96.18) and Shaun was given a curfew order by the judge between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. for the next two months.

Bridgeman's parents were mortified once they heard what their daughter has done, and approached Brendan Padfield, the owner of The Unruly Pig, immediately after the sentencing to pay the dinner bill their daughter skipped out on.

When the Ipswich Star reached out to Mr. Padfield for comment, he had this to say:

"I’m relieved the two culprits have been apprehended.

I am sorry for them, particularly Donna Bridgeman, whose parents have had the dignity and honor to come to see me to apologize because they were so ashamed of their daughter.

They have already paid me what was due which says so much for them, and so much less about their daughter.

They are good people. I wish the same were true about the two thieves."

Bridgeman was found guilty of bailing on a cab fare as well back in May, which resulted in her being ordered to pay the cabbie $10 on top of a $65 fine for a conditional discharge from an earlier crime. Hopefully, this will serve as a wake-up call for her.
