He's in my Top five list. I also have come to realize The Coli, when it comes to artist like Em and Jay, have certain people that will become passionate in their hate for an artist like they stole their girlfriend and shot their dog. Seems odd.

It's not even worth negging this...Eminem's best days have BEEN over.

It doesn't matter how many albums he sells when he has basically become a parody of himself and everything that he went against over a decade ago.

Em is the goat. Don't let these black guys with their inferiority complexes make you believe otherwise. They are so insecure.

Completely disagree in everything you said here. There's 0 doubt in my mind that Em has gotten worse in every aspect. No way is he a better overall songwriter - most of his songs these days are lacking in direction and are pretty much just rambling. A song like Legacy had tons of potential - but the chrorus is bad and the 3rd verse is atrocious. It started out perfect in the first 2 verses talking about having a tough time growing up and turning to rap, but the 3rd verse he just starts going off on a tangent about football has that awful sausage line.

I said he's a much better song writer than when I first started listening to him, that was well before MMLP/TES.

His chorus' are very hit or miss these days (not to mention he has outside artists doing 50% of them which sucks). Going Through Changes has great verses but the chorus is garbage (especially Em's part). Back on MMLP and TES every chorus he did was dope.

I agree, i'd rather him do his own hooks because he was usually on point with them for the most part, the last two albums have suffered from too many features.

In regards to If I Get Locked Up Tonight - you're comparing a freestyle type track to a solo album track (in Seduction). Not a fair comparision. You wouldn't compare the Despicable freestyle to My Mom or something. Or Till Hell Freezes Over to The Way I Am. And Rap God is an example of a current track that is lacking in structure, flow, and production imo.

I compared them for a good reason though. That was basically em's lane early on, that's the type of shyt that draws comparisons to people like canibus, or chino xl and he has clearly progressed that even if those are the usually the joints people refer to when reminiscing on how dope he used to be. Point being he's still making songs here and there that I prefer over his old stuff, I can't say that about most of my favorite artists.

^ To make a more fair comparison, I personally like this eminem more than something like if I get locked up tonight, and they don't sound much like his older material.

- Stronger Than I Was, So Far, Love Game - all horribly done songs.
- Headlights is a song that had potential - but his flow is horrible on it, and it just doesn't quite get there. Whereas in the past he has a track like Cleaning Out My Closet which is perfectly executed in all aspects.
- Beautiful Pain is a track that again had potential, but it is severely lacking in direction and Em is just rambling on about nothing for the most part.
- Monster is a track that attempted to be serious/retrospective - but again it just falls short.
- production on @sshole is unbelievably bad. Like you would have to be nearly deaf to think that's a good beat to use

Not to mention the fact that his flow is nowhere near as good as it used to be. Very hit or miss these days (more often a miss since Recovery). Early in his career it was very good, around TES and 8 Mile it was flawless. Now it's worse than it's ever been on the whole./quote]

I said several times that I like stronger than I was, and I think it's a well written song up til he starts grunting on the hook but I can agree with most of that. I'd say the part of his skillset that took the biggest hit is his vocals.
