Eminem is the perfect example that "being technical" doesn't matter if you can't make MUSIC

I'll listen to relapse quicker than i'd listen to any of his older albums to be honest. Best overall production package and plenty of songs, some of his best actually that exist outside of the battle /exhibition rap. And the songs that were along those lines came through more often than not.

3AM
hello
same song and dance
stay wide awake
beautiful
deja vu
music box
going through changes
seduction
almost famous
no love

^All songs post-encore/fall off that I enjoyed for reasons other than "the multi's:ohlawd:"

And there were plenty of those as well to be enjoyed by people who like that type of rap.

I havent liked any eminem shyt since 8 mile

I loved the slim shady ep/lp and all his guest spots in that time frame
then the mmlp era

eminem show era was pretty weak to me

8 mile era was a comeback

then he sucked

but those westwood alchemist freestyles with royce are sick and if he did an album of stuff like that on raw beats i would love it

i used to hate that old infinite album but thats actually been one of my favorite albums the past few years

I agree with OP to some extent, these days he does seem more focused about being technical/rapping fast/fitting in as many multis as possible without really saying anything. He kind of reminds me of a football player past his prime (growing up watching Ladainian Tomlinson and his decline from 2008-2011 - he showed some bounce back in 2011 before completely falling off - makes me realize this I suppose) - Em still has some skill and ability, but not like early on his career. Using my analogy - he still shows some flashes here and there, but on the whole he just isn't what he used to be. There were some flashes on the re-up, relapse, and very few songs on Recovery, along with freestyles here and there. But overall he just isn't making good music(that actually sounds pleasant to your ears)/albums anymore.

Although prior to his fall off, Eminem made plenty of good music
