Unfortunately the way the rest of his career went after 2003 is what doesnt put him top 3 all time.

Eminem was the man in his prime but he went way overboard with the shock value. Take The Marshall Mathers LP for instance. It might be his best album, and there are a lot of dope tracks there, but it also has "Kim."
He's literally screaming for six minutes about killing his wife for cheating on him, in graphic detail. Now, the concept could work, and if you want to take it for what it is, it's a really horrifying song. But just as music, I can't listen to it anymore. Hearing him get so bloodthirsty and yelling at himself (because he did Kim's voice) to bleed is just.........no. It creeps me out.
I get the criticism that Eminem gets when it comes to his music, because sonically, what he put out never quite matched his talent. Except for The Eminem Show/8 Mile period, which is the closest he ever got to finding a balance between the two.
If he spent less time on the shock value and dark humor, and tried being more introspective and poetic with his lyrics, combined with some really great production, no doubt we would be putting him in the conversation for top five. But after being here for more than a year, I understand now why he can't be put in that class. His music won't allow it.

How does that make him top 3 tho? Underrated on the coli(maybe) but definitely overrated elsewhere. And his subject matter for the most part is very limited
