Slim Shady LP aged like any other 90's album to me :yeshrug: While Marshall Mathers LP does have about 10 of the most played out songs in hip-hop history, that shyt aged like fine wine regardless of how many times it was played. Drug Ballad and I'm Back

If anything, The Eminem Show is probably the most dated one in his discography. Eminem produced a lot of it so those "casio" beats don't really hold up, but look past that and it's still some of the best music Eminem ever made :manny:

Even though he had moments (There were some cool songs on Relapse, a couple on Encore, and in between that), for the most part, the rest of his discography is :trash: so I'll just leave it at that. But give credit where credit is due, Em's discography did not age that badly.

It honestly hasn't. It was never great, but now it's even dated. And I will forever consider myself a fan of his. Just know what time it is on his albums is all.

Here's the thing, alot of the people who trash The MMLP today(like myself) or others bought the album and were fans of it but today it sounds:huhldup:

I can listen to maybe 10 songs now from his first 3 albums combined

Remember me
Who knew
I'm back
Ken keniff
Drug ballad
Kim
Real slim shady
Marshall Mathers
Under the influence
Amityville
Steve berman
Public service anoucement

These range from either always trash/skippable or good/ok in 00', Sound like crap today

And this is supposed to be a classic album:wtf: Thats 80% of the album

Of course it has.

Eminem's albums from The Slim Shady LP to The Eminem Show all range from great to classic to great. His run from 99' to 02' was something else.

Depends on who you asking. I think it's funny that relapse is probably an album that i'm going to listen to more than the firs three, despite SSLP/MMLP clearly being more creative/dynamic, albums are "classics" for so many reasons to so many different people, being able to not sound "dated" 10 years down the road doesn't make an album the holy grail.

Em and DMX both kinda made that time capsule music in that era, they were capturing something very specific to not only them as artists but the time period, that changing of the guard. Then with em the media was so involved in and outside of his music in regards to his career.

Who is really going to bat for censorship right now? Who is getting in on the climate changes and shifts in the music...whoever that is, whatever they do will be attached to this space and time, SSLP/MMLP aren't timeless because they did just that. Doesn't mean you should negate their impact because you can't pull it out and have the vibe, the words, the moods be relevant in 2013.

And if you take a close look, at lot of these "timeless" records nikkas talk about are early 90's and sample heavy....i'd consider digable planets first album one of those joints you can just plug and play in any era, mostly because of the beats. Great album, personal classic but it doesn't get the nod over other joints just because it's "easy listening"

His run that included Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP, 8 Mile Soundtrack and The Eminem Show is the GOAT run.

Eminem is the best rapper alive.

Slim Shady LP and Marshal Mathers LP are two albums that define rap. Classic doesn't begin to describe them. Their isnt a rapper out that isn't scared of em. this dude will rip you to pieces and chew u up quicker than u pop a xanax.

Im going to a pretty place now where the flowers grow, ill be back in a hour or so. this record will NEVER get old everytime i listen to it its like listening for the first time. i can go on and on but lemme stop
