I know I often shyt on Caccinem (for good reason), but he absolutely killed this. This was one of my favorite songs of 2000, and I would wait in front of the TV for hours hoping they'd play it*. Now, I haven't heard this track in years but the whole thing just goes. This is up there with "Dead Wrong" levels of vocal performances. AKA sounding like a white guy that can actually ride a beat with some charm, not a cac rhythmless robot.

Couple observations:

a) I remember thinking that Bizarre was absolute trash at the time. And listening to it now is surreal because dude sounds better than most rappers out :deadrose: The bar has absolutely plummeted.

b) That harmonica at the end was always a stroke of genius. Still sounds incredible.

c) I had no idea Eminem made this beat :ohhh: It's easily the best beat he ever made. Or did Mr Porter and Bass Brothers really make it and give Eminem credit? :troll: Because his subsequent production work sounds nothing like this. In fact, it's so much shyttier one has to wonder wtf dude was thinking.

***The other two tracks that I played and watched endlessly

Please don't post Sing For The Moment, whatever that 8 Mile song was, etc. Aint nobody trying to hear that shyt in a social setting.

"Without Me" is a maybe but the DJ would already have to be going in a goofy, 2000s mix direction for that shyt to even work

How you feel about the last track on Encore feat 50 and Dre? Always thought that was banger

The nerve of a Drake Stan to talk trash about pop :dahell:

I'm too old and of a different generation to stan, breh.

But let me put it this way: Drake is pop but his hip hop shyt probably goes harder than whatever you're listening to now. You posting "Smack That" tells me you like that pop shyt :salute:

That and Superman are his best club type records IMO.
But as for Purple Pills I think the first time on BET spring bling and he did his verse during his little set and I was like wtf song was that :ohhh:

Not nearly as big of a deal as H to Izzo but same effect in that the first time I heard it was like on tv.

If you notice most of his best songs are on his own beats. fukk if he can compete with actual producers, he makes dope shyt for himself more often than somebody other than Dre does.
